Prosciutto Wrapped Figs with Balsamic Honey Glaze

Elevate your holiday gatherings this season with a canapé that’s as elegant as it is easy to make. These prosciutto-wrapped fig canapés combine sweet, savoury, and tangy flavours for a perfectly balanced bite. A must-have for your festive spread!

  • 2 - 3 slices prosciutto
  • 4 fresh figs
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey 
  • 1 baguette, sliced crosswise
  • 1/4 olive oil
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • Mini basil leaves (optional) or finely sliced basil leaves
  • 1/3 cup mild blue cheese cut into small slices (Stilton, gorgonzola, danish blue, etc.)

Yields 16 pieces canapés

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Slice baguette crosswise and drizzle with olive oil
  3. Bake in oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown; set aside and let it cool down
  4. In a small pot or pan add balsamic vinegar, rosemary and honey; let simmer until thickened  
  5. Cut fresh figs into quarters and wrap with small slices of prosciutto 
  6. To assemble top toasted baguette with blue cheese and prosciutto wrapped fig
  7. Glaze with balsamic honey 
  8. Garnish with mini basil leaves or finely sliced basil leaves
