At Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts small classes, hands-on training and dedicated European Chef instructors give each student the personal attention they need to master the “art” of cooking and baking.

Pre-Requisites

Students admitted to Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts must meet these pre-requisites:

  1. Education - Graduation from Grade 12 or equivalent (BC high school diploma, BC Adult Graduation Diploma, or an equivalent secondary school completion from another jurisdiction. (General Educational Development (GED) certificates are not considered equivalent to a Grade 12 diploma), or mature student status (age 19 prior to the start of classes) 
  2. Citizenship - Canadian citizen; landed immigrant or immigration approval (study permit)
  3. Language - Ability to read, write and converse in English
  4. Approach - A positive attitude and a sincere motivation to learn
  5. Attribute - A serious commitment to becoming a professional culinarian

Schedule an appointment to tour Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts, if possible.

Please note that we have limited seating available in the Culinary and Baking & Pastry professional programs in the July and September 2008 classes.

Application Process:

Step 1: Send in your completed and signed application form along with a non-refundable application fee of $100 CAD.

Step 2: Our Director of Admissions will then review your application and notify you of acceptance within 5 business days.

Step 3: Once you have received notification of acceptance, you must submit the following items within 5 business days in order to complete your application and secure your seat for the preferred class start date.

  • 1st Tuition Payment (as outlined on the application form)
  • Two passport-sized photographs
  • High School certificate/diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Photocopy of your valid driver’s license or birth certificate
  • English Language proficiency result-TOEFL preferred (if English is not your first language)
